Book Review: Psychic by Sylvia Browne

Before the semester ended I received an email from a woman named Trish Collins asking if I would be interested in reviewing Sylvia Browne's new book and I have to be honest at first I was very afraid it was a scam, but once the book arrived I was so thrilled! I'm a huge Sylvia Browne fan so this opportunity was amazing. Anyway, this post is supposed to be my book review so let me get to that lol.

First I want to say this is the first official book review ever done here so I apologize if it's not as professional as other book reviews. Second I have to say this book could not have come at a better time. I was hooked from page one. Sylvia's writing style is light, informal, and refreshing; quite like Sylvia is when she would do appearances on the Montel show. Psychic is a book all about Sylvia's life, from childhood until now. At 73 she's still going strong.

From front to back there was not one thing that I couldn't personally relate to minus being psychic of course. This is a very healing and uplifting book. It is my firm belief that anyone of any faith can enjoy this book. Apart from a religious point, a person must not be living life if they can't find something to interest them or something to relate to in this book.

This book found me at a time when I really needed healing and I got it from this book. In my opinion every person who is capable of reading should go out and buy this book. You won't regret it I promise. Even if you have no clue who Sylvia Browne is go buy her new book Psychic. You'll get to know Sylvia and might even learn something about yourself in its pages.

I'm Still Here

I'm sorry I disappeared again. I have another post ready to be put up on my computer but things have been busy and I haven't had time to make it to the library. I would just use my blackberry to post it like I do with these but I don't get cell service at the ranch and our small town doesn't have any wifi spots. But I promise I will get to the library asap and post fresh stuff. I need to do some housekeeping on the blog as well because we'll be having visitors June 9th.

Anyway, things are okay with me and Granddad. Granddad is smiling more and I'm learning to reach out to friends rather than push them away. I have a friend in town that I went to junior high with, named Miss J, that lost her mama a year ago to cancer and I've been spending a lot of time with her. Sometimes we talk about my grandma and her mom but usually we talk about old times or the town gossip and just being around someone who has been there is very healing and helpful.

I do have one concern that I want to ask you guys about. I've been having this nightmare every night since Gram was buried. In it Gram is skeletal and has hands like claws. She's chasing me around the house to attack me and claw my throat out. It scares me enough that I have a hard time walking through the house in the dark, my overactive imagination conjures images of Gram hiding in the dark waiting for me and I have to turn the lights on. Now what bothers me the most and truly hurts me is that I know Gram would never ever do that and telling myself that and knowing it in my heart doesn't make the nightmare go away. Miss J says its part of the grieving process, but since I've not been there before I wouldn't know. If any of you have any advice please let me know what you think.

Heartfelt Thanks

Well everyone, I'm back. I promise I'm not lying in a darkened room sulking and wishing I was dead. After my last final at school I drove to the ranch, attended Gram's funeral (what I could see of it through my tears was lovely), and have been staying with Granddad ever since then. It's home after all and I would never run away from home. We don't have the internet at the house so right now I'm composing this on my phone. Monday when the library opens I'll have more stuff to post, including a surprise book review which will be posted June 9th. By a show of comments, how many of you know who Sylvia Browne is and how many of you are fans of hers?

Anyway, I did get to see all the lovely comments you guys left in response to the last post and I want to say thank you to you all. All of you guys who went through this hard process have been wonderful and I can say, straight from the heart, I truly consider you guys dear friends. Without your encouragement, kind words, advice and true caring I would have been lost. For now I'm going to end this post but I'll see everyone on Monday and I'm keeping you guys in my prayers and thoughts. Blessings to you all.
